The History of Ghost City
Ghost City is a metropolis of some 320,000 people that the outside world barely notices — and that is no accident.
It was founded in 1812 beside an ancient Native burial ground, above a magical spring.
The site is a weak point in space and time, where human dreams and wishes can take shape in the living world.
The peoples who first used the land employed that power to bid farewell to their dead.
The founders named the city Ghost City because strange, ghostly things kept happening there.
Soon after, a witch discovered the place and learned to bend its hidden power to her will.
She feeds on intense emotion. Sex, mental anguish, and physical pain are her richest sources of energy.
To protect her dominion she cast a supernatural veil over the city: outsiders lose interest in it, while inside its borders, darker urges, cruel fantasies, and twisted desires grow stronger and begin to take form.
In 1847 the city built a lunatic asylum directly on the cemetery — and the witch had her hand in it — for psychopaths, the insane, and serial killers whose crimes were bound up with sexual violence.
Year after year those thoughts pressed against the weak point and slowly erased everything good and kind.
The witch has since extended the weak point’s influence across the whole city.
Immortal killers, summoned horrors, and predatory forces roam its streets.
Because she can draw her strength only from female victims, the women and girls of Ghost City have become the central fuel for her endless hunger for power.
No woman or girl is safe there now. There is no escape and no help.
